On April 19, 2014 with the initiative of “Vallex” group companies, the next student event called “Following the steps of Tumanyan: Giqor’s path” was organized which was accompanied with tree-planting. About 160 persons – the students of RA leading universities, regional youth representatives of Lori, and other interested persons took part in the event.
Participants first visited the Hovhannes Toumanyan’s house-museum, put flowers on the monument. Afterwards, they visited the memorial complex, eternalizing the memory of Dsegh villagers, who had died during The Great Patriotic War. Tree-planting in this area started: about 150 Yew tree-plants were planted. After the tree-planting, participants marched through the forest path, named “Giqor’s path” to the Chapel of the “St. Harutyun” (“Crow’s ark”, 13th c.), to “St. Grigor Bardzraqash” monastery complex and other cultural-historic monuments.
At the end of the day, participants watched performance “Fairy Tales for Adults” by Vanadzor State Dramatic Theater named after Hovhannes Abelyan.
